BEVERLY KIWANIANS ATTEND LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN CONWAY NH

Four members of the Kiwanis Club of Beverly attended the leadership conference in Conway NH sponsored by the New England District of Kiwanis International. President, Dean Porteous, Secretary, Katie Finch, Treasurer, John Maihos and Membership Chair, Fran Dichner, received training in running a successful community organization.

As part of the event, the newly elected leaders of the club participated in educational programs on worldwide projects of Kiwanis International and a number of regional programs that clubs support through the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Institute at the Boston Floating Hospital.

According to President Dean, a number of programs were reviewed that can be implemented in the club's service area of Beverly, Hamilton and Wenham. "Our major emphasis program is Young Children: Priority One. We feel that working with the Beverly Police Department on the Annual Bicycle Rodeo is one way we contribute to youth. The Beverly High School Key Club has been successful and we are working to bring a Builders Club to middle school students."
